The studio was founded by German born designer Bao-Nghi Droste in 2010. After having been skilled as a cabinetmaker, he studied industrial design at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt. Before setting up his own studio he worked at the offices of Werner Aisslinger in Berlin, Hannes Wettstein in Zurich and Ippolito Fleitz Group in Stuttgart amongst others.

His designs are efficiently reduced and commonly peppered with thought-out details on both a constructive and an aesthetic level, resulting in formal calmness, clarity and logic. He often bridges between the old and the new, the familiar and the unknown, the proven and the innovative, in order to create an integrative balance between the human, the object and the space. Always forward-looking and history-aware. A sustainable approach that facilitates and tightens emotional relations towards an object or space, and that is certainly partly informed by his Vietnamese roots.

Today the studio focuses on product, furniture and spatial design and works on a multitude of projects for various clients.
